Get up close to some of nature’s powerful and magnificent hawks and falcons whilst learning about the ancient art of falconry. This brilliant experience involves spending a full day at the centre whilst learning falconry first-hand. To begin, listen to some background information, including the types of hawks used and a history of the sport, then enjoy some practice time flying various birds. After a break, take part in flying some falcons, including the peregrine (traditionally the falcon of kings and nobility) and one of the fastest creatures that has ever lived on this planet.
- Availability Description
This voucher is valid for one person. Available on both weekday and weekend dates, year round, excluding Christmas Day and New Year. All dates are subject to availability. - Participant Guidelines
Minimum age: 10 years (under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult). There will be some walking on uneven ground. Both novices and those with some experience of birds of prey are welcome, as the day can be designed around a level to suit you. - Weather
Please call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the experience is cancelled because of bad weather it will be re-booked for an alternative date. - Duration
As a guide, this experience will last for six to seven hours. - Numbers on the Day
There will be up to 10 people sharing this experience. - Dress Code
Dress for the outdoors and wear wellies or walking boots. Bring a change of clothes if the weather is bad. For those who have a camera and/or a pair of binoculars, please feel free to bring them along. - Other Info
All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences. Spectators are welcome at a charge of £15, payable on the day. Dogs are not permitted at any falconry venues.
