Get the motor running, don a crash helmet and prepare for dirty tyres with an off-road biking day in Shropshire. Based in 1500 acres of private forest, this great off-road area offers something for both novices and experienced riders, not to mention some stunning views. It doesn’t even matter if you’ve never ridden a bike before. Meet at the New Inn Hotel Llangynog and get kitted out before starting the adventure – the tour isn’t extreme but does include plenty of challenges and a fair amount of mud. It’s amazing how quickly new bike skills can be picked up, so expect to be pretty confident by lunchtime, when the group returns to base camp to sit down for a bite to eat – so, don’t forget to bring a sandwich.
